Well--here she is! The last chapters of SanCirc, in script form, readable! That's it!

You can download it here.

It's 64 pages, and includes some little illustrations and bonus sketches I had for these chapters at the end. I had to hand format this into a script, so uhh... please excuse any weird formatting haha, I did what I could. Obviously, doing the rest as a comic would've been the most ideal. I hope you'll understand, reading it, why that was gonna be quite a feat: fights on a moving train, hoards of zombies, crowd scenes... oof. Not that I can't do these things, but on a 10-year old comic that I want to move on from, it got really heavy.

I know a script will never replace a full comic, but I hope this still reads well, and can bring some closure to this comic. I never want to put the idea of eventually drawing these pages off the table, but at this point I'm content to call this comic complete and moving on. She's gotta go off to grade 4 now and learn how to do division math.

I'll be honest... when I first started this comic, I didn't exactly have an ending planned. I had some vague ideas, but I was mostly starry eyed at the idea of this comic going on forever. I was pretty naive, and have slowly learned I'm just not the type of creator that can carry the same story with me for decades and decades--and hey, you know, that's fine. So, it came to a point I really wanted to end this comic, and thanks to my editor and partner, we were able to shape this ending, which I wrote out in 2020 (or 2021? I can't remember). It's a bit condensed--normally SanCirc "arcs" last 20 chapters, and this one is 5 (albeit longer chapters). But I'm pretty happy with it.

So, um, happy reading! And farewell SanCirc! Just making this has made me really emotional in all different ways.

I'm still around, kicking up more projects and whatnot. I have a newsletter with my partner that I typically write in monthly here, if you would like to keep up with that. My newest comic, Augustine, that I do with them is full of funny characters and antics that honestly reminds me of SanCirc a lot. And I have my own graphic novel, Lost Time, which is available in bookstores. Okay, just wanted to plug that since I dunno if I'll make any more posts here. We'll see--

See ya around!

Uh wow, hello. I haven't forgotten, I never could.

10 entire years ago I started this comic. I honestly never thought I'd have a comic for this long. It's been some... sporadic updates in the last like, 5 of these 10 years. But nonetheless: May 22, 2014 I officially posted the prologue. Geez!!!

So this poster is a little teaser. I will be ending SanCirc this year. Maybe not in the way you think, so here's a big disclaimer on how that's going down: I will be sharing the script of the remaining chapters. This isn't really how I wanted it to end. I fought hard to try and continue with drawing these comic pages, because I am quite proud of these chapters, and the idea of drawing them does excite me. But as you can see... I've tried, and tried, but in the end I need to recognize my limits here. And it sucks. Even though it's only a few more chapters, because they're longer, it would still be another hundred pages to complete the comic. And it's been ten years. And I need to move on.

It's not that I despise this comic, but 10 years is a long time! So much has changed! I was 19/20 when I started this. Now I'm 30. That's a big leap, let me tell you. And I love what I did with SanCirc, but if anything I've learned in these last few years as I struggled to continue working on the comic, is that I do need to move on. But I couldn't do that without leaving some kind of ending. I don't think that's fair! I've had this ending written for a few years now. Although I couldn't do comics, I hope the script can bring a closure to the story too.

The script is done, but I'm still working on some little illustrations I want to include with it (because it still feels wrong just posting a script!). Foolish, 19 year-old me did not have the foresight they should have in that May was obviously going to be the busiest month for me, in the future. C'mon, past me, you should have known!!! Anyway, I had wanted to post the script today but it's not quite ready, but soon. Soon.

In the meantime, I've made the PDF of the artbook I made in 2017 available to get on my shop (CLICK HERE) for the first time in a long time. It's 5 bucks CAD. It has probably most of the art and sketches I ever made for SanCirc and the years I was most active with it. It was a treat looking through it again, honestly.

Anyway--a final note is, of course, a big thanks to all of you, for being with me for these 10 years. I won't lie in that I've felt a tremendous amount of guilt for not being able to update this comic as frequently anymore. You all are so sweet and funny and a joy to make comics for, so thank you so so much.

Ah, woops. Time's been slipping though my fingers. I said I'd be back in May, then June, and now it's July. Apologies.

I'm once again really struggling with this one, but at this point I think it's because I overestimated myself. I've been working non-stop on comics since this time last year, on at least four comics, and I think I hit my limit haha. I finally finished up Volume 3 of Paint the Town Red last month, so June was meant to be a bit of my "break". I was still hoping to get SanCirc up and running by then, but I think I need to realize that's not possible. I really do need a break.

It's frustrating to have SanCirc falling by the wayside all the time--this is the only comic I have on my roster that I do pretty much 100% myself, so it gets harder to complete. Having it THIS CLOSE to the end makes it all the more frustrating, but it is what it is.

This is mostly a pressure I put on myself--you guys have been nothing but wonderful and patient, and I'm so grateful for that. I think to move forward I need to also take this pressure off of myself, because it's not really helping me get this comic done.

I DID manage some work on the new chapter: it's thumbnailed, and I've begun sketching. I think, from here, SanCirc will be uploaded in batches instead of individual pages during the week--this means less frequent updates, but more content in each one. That way I don't have to chase buffers all the time, and they'll be done as I finish them. I am hoping to get to that as soon as I can, but I'm also giving myself some time. I really want to get this chapter started for you guys at least before the end of the year.

In the meantime, of course, there's Paint the Town Red, which is now updating frequently, as well as Augustine which has a whole chapter done now. And a reminder my graphic novel, Lost Time, comes out October 3rd. My partner and I also reopened our Patreon recently--it'll have some early pages of all our comics, but there's no obligation there.

Thanks as always for being so sweet and patient. Comics are on the way, they're just slow!

Annnd that's the end of the chapter! I think I mentioned that these ones are gonna be a little longer than my usual, this ended up being about double the length lol.

Thanks for joining me on this one! It was a bit of a weird ride. I know I kinda switched styles partway through. I tried to do my usual style for SanCirc, but was struggling to get it to look right--so I shifted into this more flat style. This is probably what I'll keep up for the rest of the chapters.

Anyway, I need a little break now, mostly to get Volume 3 of the Paint the Town Red finished. So my tentative return for the comic is gonna be May. I know that seems like a long time, but in the meantime you can read my other comics I'm working on! Augustine will still be updating every Tuesday/Thursday, and PTTR as mentioned above, now has a brand new website where you can catch it every Wednesday/Sunday (plus it already has ALL of Volume 1 up there, which is like 100 pages lol). Also a little reminder that my graphic novel is still slated for October 3rd and you can totally still preorder it!

(Also, if you wanna keep up with all of me and my partner's projects, you can sign up to our newsletter, which I update monthly!)

Thanks as always for reading! Catch you all soon for Chapter 22.

CALVARY'S HERE

Hey! Thanks for being patient. I wanted to build a good buffer for me before getting this rolling, knowing how busy my schedule can quickly get! You can preorder it probably from any of your fave retailers, or you can go here (American) or here (Canadian) to find one.

Preorders and spreading the word do wonders for me here, so any help is appreciated. ;v; Thanks!
